We are always seeking new partners to expand our work and bring the power of storytelling to those in LGBTQIA+ communities. Nathan Manske shares a story during a Community Showcase in Storytellers and instructors from an intro workshop with MOBI in It Gets Better is the world’s largest storytelling effort to empower LGBTQ+ youth. Investing in local, like-minded organizations outside the US, It Gets Better brings story-telling and other life-affirming support to communities of LGBTQ+ youth around the globe.
Since , the monthly storytelling show at Lakeview's iconic gay bar has been a place for connection, catharsis and community. Through storytelling, gay narratives humanize the LGBTQ+ community and encourage audiences to see beyond stereotypes. By presenting relatable characters, these stories help individuals recognize shared emotions, struggles, and aspirations.
Gay stories are important in changing how we view the world. They make us see the LGBTQ+ community in a new light. Through personal and relatable storytelling, these tales teach us to care and understand. Looking into the past, we find many gay stories that shape today’s LGBTQ+ identity.
